English Language Day 2026: A Celebration of Words, Talent and Confidence!

On 27th February, from 10.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m., Charis International School came alive with excitement as students celebrated English Language Day with enthusiasm and passion!

The event began with the highly anticipated Primary Spelling Bee Competition, divided into three categories. The Primary students impressed the audience with their strong vocabulary and confident spelling.

For Year 1 & 2, the Champion was Year 2 Lau Shi Xin, with Chen Hao Lin as 1st Runner-Up and Daphne Kee as 2nd Runner-Up.

In the Year 3 & 4 category, the Champion was Year 4 Victor, 1st Runner-Up was Year 4 Harris, and 2nd Runner-Up was Year 3 Andy. They all demonstrated excellent preparation and determination.

For Year 5 & 6, the Champion was Year 5 Jotham Pang, followed by Chan Wei as 1st Runner-Up and Reanna Siew as 2nd Runner-Up.

The celebration continued with the Primary Storytelling Competition, involving students from Year 1 to Year 5. The Champion was Year 5 Aryanshah, while Year 4 Eizzara Sofia Yeo emerged as 1st Runner-Up and Year 4 Junior Chin as 2nd Runner-Up. Their expressive performances and creativity truly captivated the audience!

Meanwhile, secondary students from Year 7 to Year 11 participated in an exciting Jeopardy Challenge, where teamwork and quick thinking were put to the test. The Champion was Year 11, followed by Year 10 as 1st Runner-Up and Year 8 as 2nd Runner-Up.

In addition, five groups competed in the Talent Competition, showcasing impressive performances in English. The Champion was Year 10 Duo - Angel and Joy, with Year 10 Solo - Joy as 1st Runner-Up and Year 8 Glow Gang Band as 2nd Runner-Up.

In conclusion, English Language Day was a vibrant and meaningful celebration that strengthened students’ confidence, creativity, and love for the English language. It was truly a memorable day filled with learning, laughter, and outstanding achievements!
