Charis International School Celebrates Student Achievements at 2023/24 Awards Ceremony

Charis International School held its 2023/24 Awards Ceremony to honour students for their achievements in academics and behaviour. The event, which took place on 16 July , was a celebration of perseverance, dedication, and respect. The ceremony began with an inspiring speech by Principal Dr. Debra Sim. In her address, she emphasised the importance of persistence and quoted, "Judge not those who tried and failed; judge those who failed to try." Her speech set an encouraging tone for the event, motivating students to continue striving for excellence.

The awards ceremony started with recognizing the achievements of the kindergarten pupils, our youngest students. This was followed by awards for the primary and secondary school students. The awards included "Most Progressive Student Award, " "Diligent Award," “Outstanding Award” and "Most Respectful Student," among others. These diverse awards highlighted the school’s emphasis on academic excellence and exemplary conduct.

In the caring and supportive environment of the school, each student received at least one award to acknowledge their unique contributions and efforts. Proud parents were present to witness their children's achievements, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.

Additionally, the school particularly honoured high achiever students, who received not only certificates but also vouchers. This initiative underscored the school’s commitment to rewarding hard work and outstanding academic performance.

Year 1-2:

Year 3-4:

  • Third Place: Reanna Siew

Year 5-6:

  • Third Place: Jeremy Tan

Year 7-9:

  • First Place: Joy Ngu, Jonas Gan
  • Second Place: Angel Sharvenna

  • First Place: Soo Jia Yi
  • Second Place: Lee Tyson

The 2023/24 Awards Ceremony was a great success, with Principal Dr Debra Sim, parents, and staff all feeling proud and inspired by the students. Principal Dr Debra Sim hopes to continue fostering an environment that encourages students to excel both in academic and character, preparing them for future success.
