The results for the June 2022 International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examination have been released! Students from Charis International School in Tawau have achieved outstanding results in their Year 11 examinations, showcasing impressive performances!

Angel Liew Ai Tong is a standout among this year's candidates, achieving 8 A* and 1 A. Following closely is Tiffeny Fong Jing Yee, who obtained 7 A*, 1 A, and 1 B. Next is Lee Hershe, who achieved 6 A*, 2 A and 1 B. Amelia Pang secured 2 A*, 2 A, 1 B, and 2 C, while Tan Ehud scored 2 A*, 1 A, 3 B, and 2 C.

Each student earned at least 2 A or above, with an overall pass rate of 98%. Notably, Chemistry, Chinese, and Malay subjects achieved a 100% A* and A scoring. Most of this year's candidates have been groomed within the school’s educational system from the primary level, proving the effectiveness of the school’s tailored educational planning. Additionally, all students received at least 3 credits, qualifying them for entry into university or private colleges for GCE A-Level courses, pre-university courses, or other related diploma programmes.

Principal Dr. Debra Sim is greatly impressed by the students' achievements, which exceeded expectations. This indicates that the school’s internal assessment methods are precise and reliable enough to accurately predict students' performances in international exams. The overall school performance for this year’s Cambridge IGCSE has improved compared to previous years, with all students passing the GCE O-Level standard (i.e., at least achieving an "E" grade) and securing at least 5 credits. Furthermore, the students' achievements in two foreign language subjects (Chinese and Malay) were exceptional. Over the past five years, nearly 100% of candidates have achieved A* and A grades in these subjects.
